Informal and fun sessions using a combination of creative, law and forest school learning methods for children aswell as adults.
Tuesday 4th August 2-4pm - Fairytales, Empowerment and the Law (with Lee Duggan & Lucy F-M)
What do you usually think of when you conjure up thoughts of fairies? Tinkerbell and Disney? Come to this session and engage in another very ancient form of fairyworld, the Welsh Y Tylwydd Teg, the Fair Folk, what we mean by lore and law, folk, and fair, and to be as naughty and as cheeky as a changeling and create your own law with poetry!
Tuesday 18th August 2-4pm - Commons, Foraging and the Charter of the Forest (with Lucy F-M)
Ever know there was a ‘Lost Charter’, the twin Magna Carta that promoted use rights of the forest over individual rights, that could have taken us down a very different path of law than we know today. Come learn about the ‘right to glean’, the foraging ‘rule of thirds’ and create your own version of the charter through performing the ‘comedy of the commons’.
Tuesday 1st September - Hywel Dda, Mabinogi and Rights (with Rhys Trimble & Lucy F-M)
What are the connections between the traditional Hywel Dda (Medieval Welsh Law) and the Mabinogion? What can we learn of law and rights within the stories of the Mabinogi? Have fun re-creating the stories and characters from the myths and learn how each symbolise forms of law and custom.
A workshop using field recordings and QGIS mapping to map North Wales rave scene! Come with us to share your experiences of North Wales rave, make your own ‘series of repetitive beats’ (as per Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 s.63 (1))and see how myth, sound, land and law may all have been involved in the making of North Welsh electronic music.

Nature Rights, and Natural Law (with Lucy F-M)
Where does law come from? What does it mean to self-legislate? Is law from nature? Does nature have rights? Learn about different understandings of natural law, commune with the non-human through learning about a growing understanding of ‘nature rights’ and ways you can protect and emppower your environment.
The Many Headed Hydra - Hydrangeas, Water and Justice (with Sandy Finchett-Maddock & Lucy F-M)
Hydra means watersnake in Latin, rom the Ancient Greek word hýdra (ὕδρα), which traces back to hýdōr (ὕδωρ, meaning water). Learn about the history and meaning of the hydrangea,the plant with its ‘many-headed’ nature symbolising resistance and tenacity in the face of unjust laws. As we draw and work with the flowers, we will think about how resistances have emerged at the same time as laws, across the centuries, across the waves and waters, and what water can tell us of justice.
